Java/Kafka Engineer-Analyst (Data Platform)

• Minimum 3 years of production experience with Apache Kafka, including brokers, topics, partitioning, schemas, replication, Kafka Streams, kSQL, and Kafka Connect development
• Proficient knowledge of Java and the Spring framework (including Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Security, Spring Data) and familiarity with Python
• Experience with MongoDB (schema design, indexing, query optimization), GraphQL service implementation, schemas, resolvers, and basic knowledge of Apache Iceberg (table formats, metadata management)
• Knowledge of monitoring tools: Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry
• Understanding of data security concepts: TLS, SASL, ACL, data encryption at rest and in transit
• Experience working with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and tools (Jira, Confluence)
• Ability to analyze business requirements and communicate effectively with stakeholders to create technical specifications, use cases, and user stories
• Willingness to work in a hybrid model, spending 2 days per week in the office in Wrocław
• Legal eligibility to work in Poland (citizenship, residence card, visa, etc.)

• Collaborate with analysts, IT teams, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical specifications and map data between source systems, streaming platform, and ODS database
• Design and implement data platform solutions including building microservices, creating data query layers, designing communication structures, and integrating data between systems
• Implement monitoring metrics and observability, diagnose data flow issues, optimize performance and costs, and support operations within an Agile environment
