Java/Kafka Engineer (Data Platform)

• Minimum 3 years of production experience with Apache Kafka, including brokers, topics, partitioning, schemas, replication, and proficiency with Kafka Streams and kSQL, as well as Kafka Connect configuration and development.
• Proficient knowledge of Java and the Spring framework (Boot, Cloud, Security, Data) and familiarity with Python.
• Experience with MongoDB (document schema design, indexing, query optimization), GraphQL (service implementation, schema definition, resolvers), and basic knowledge of Apache Iceberg (table formats, metadata management).
• Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, and data security principles including TLS, SASL, ACL, and encryption at rest and in transit.
• Capability to analyze business requirements and communicate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical specifications and create use-case/user-story documentation.
• Willingness to work in a hybrid model in Wrocław with 2 days per week in the office.
• Legal eligibility to work in Poland (citizenship, residency card, visa, etc.).

• Collaborate with analysts, IT teams, and business stakeholders to analyze requirements and map data between source systems, streaming platforms, and the ODS database.
• Design and implement data platform solutions, including building microservices, query layers, communication structures, and data integration between systems.
• Implement monitoring, optimize performance and costs, and support operations by deploying metrics and observability tools.
• Work within an Agile team using Scrum/Kanban methodologies (Jira/Confluence).

Possibility to perform work on the territory of Poland requires citizenship, residence permit, visa, or equivalent authorization.
