Senior Backend Developer – Node.js & Go

This position is for a Senior Backend Developer working on a startup-like project within HSBC Tech, a leading financial institution in the banking technology sector. The role involves designing an innovative telemetry platform analyzing and visualizing data from banking applications. The job is based in Krakow with a hybrid work model (up to 3 remote days per week).

• At least 5 years of backend development experience.
• Strong expertise in REST API design and development.
• Hands-on experience with Node.js.
• Good communication skills and comfort engaging directly with customers.
• An AI-ready mindset with practical experience using chatbots and agentic approaches.
• Experience building high-performance, scalable REST APIs.

Nice to have:

• Experience with Go (Golang).

• Design and develop high-performance REST APIs to support telemetry data collection and analysis.
• Contribute to architecture decisions and improve development standards.
• Collaborate closely with customers and stakeholders to gather and understand requirements.
• Develop solutions that incorporate AI agents and agentic approaches.
• Build, process, and expose product telemetry data from HSBC Tech applications.
• Ensure code quality, scalability, and performance while adhering to best practices.
• Participate in agile development cycles, code reviews, and continuous improvement efforts.
