PHP Software Engineer

We are an e-commerce platform and a network of travel agencies offering a wide range of travel products. Since 2015, we have been part of Wirtualna Polska Holding – Poland’s largest group of media and e-commerce companies. Together with Travelplanet.pl and the Invia brands across CEE, we are building a unified travel group driven by a shared #TravelMindset.

We are a growing team of over 100 IT specialists, including Developers, DevOps Engineers, Testers, Project Managers, Architects, and Analysts. We work in Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).

• 3+ years of experience with PHP 7.x/8.x
• Proficiency in a major PHP framework (such as Symfony, Laravel, or Slim)
• Hands-on experience with REST API design and development
• Experience writing automated tests with PHPUnit
• Familiarity with the Linux command line (basic level required)
• Strong understanding of relational databases and SQL
• English proficiency at a B2+ level (communicative)
• Ready to work from the office twice a week (Gdańsk Oliwa - Alchemia)
• Hands-on experience with Docker, CI/CD Pipelines
• Strong attention to detail
• Analytical thinking
• Good communication skills

Nice to have:

• Experience with PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch
• Experience with message brokers like RabbitMQ
• Knowledge of visualization tools like Kibana or Grafana

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs in PHP, supporting core call center functionalities such as task management and call handling.
• Work on scalable and distributed systems, ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability of backend solutions.
• Collaborate closely with Product Owner, frontend developers, testers, and the Tech Lead to deliver backlog items in line with SAFe principles.
• Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into robust backend solutions aligned with product and architectural standards.
• Maintain and enhance existing functionalities, including bug fixing, performance optimization, and production support.
• Contribute to code quality through code reviews, refactoring, and adherence to best engineering practices.
