Staff Forward Deployed Engineer, GenAI, Google Cloud

Google Cloud is leading the AI revolution for businesses worldwide, providing access to frontier AI products including Gemini models and the Vertex AI platform, with collaboration opportunities with DeepMind engineering and research teams.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience building and shipping production-grade AI-driven solutions using Python, Typescript, or comparable languages.
• Experience leading technical discovery sessions with stakeholders and engineering teams to define AI and hardware infrastructure requirements.
• Experience designing and building AI systems on cloud platforms, e.g., Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience building pipelines for structured and unstructured data including vector databases and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG)-like architectures.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in AI, Computer Science, or related technical field.
• Experience implementing multi-agent systems using frameworks such as LangGraph, CrewAI, or Google’s Agent Development Kit (ADK) and patterns like ReAct, self-reflection, and hierarchical delegation.
• Knowledge of large language model native metrics and techniques for optimizing state management and tracing.

• Serve as the lead developer for AI applications, transitioning from rapid prototypes to production-grade agentic workflows such as multi-agent systems and model context protocol servers.
• Architect and code integration between Google's AI products and customer's infrastructure, including APIs and legacy data systems.
• Build high-performance evaluation pipelines and observability frameworks to ensure system accuracy, safety, and latency.
• Identify repeatable field patterns and technical issues in AI stacks to create reusable modules or suggest product features.
• Mentor talent, co-build with customer teams, and influence cross-functional strategies to enhance organizational technical capabilities.
