Software Engineer III, Android Business Communications Data Engineering

Google is a global technology company with a focus on developing next-generation technologies that impact billions of users. The role is within the Platforms and Devices team that works on various computing software platforms and first-party devices, combining AI, software, and hardware innovation globally. The position specifically influences Android & Business communications products and the RCS ecosystem.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience in software development with one or more programming languages, or 1 year with an advanced degree.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
• 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• Experience with large-scale data processing, capacity planning, system logging, and production reliability.
• Proven experience with Google infrastructure including MapReduce, Flume, Dremel, and F1.

• Build a low-latency pipeline to detect client regressions.
• Collaborate across multiple teams (~400 engineers) to define how logs and metrics are exported, processed, and consumed.
• Enable automated release and experiment gating using systems like CAS, Mendel-Autoramp, and RastaMon Policy Servers.
• Build, evolve, and maintain innovative large-scale data processing infrastructures.
