Senior Software Engineer, Embedded Systems, Pixel Core Bring Up

Google develops next-generation technologies handling large-scale information, extending beyond web search. The Core Bring Up team focuses on Pixel's hardware-software co-design, delivering low-level software infrastructure and collaborating with hardware and software teams. The Platforms and Devices team works on computing software platforms and first-party devices combining Google AI, software, and hardware.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
• 3 years experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products.
• 1 year experience with software design and architecture.
• 3 years experience working with embedded operating systems.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
• 5 years experience with data structures and algorithms.
• 1 year experience in a technical leadership role.
• Experience with architecture, design, development, testing, and deployment for Android BSP, Linux device drivers, Linux kernel modules.
• Experience in Firmware development (RTOS, bare metal).

• Write and test product or system development code.
• Act as the primary software lead for Pixel Software for new silicon programs, ensuring end-to-end readiness and risk mitigation.
• Drive software readiness to achieve production-stack Boot-to-Home on early silicon.
• Partner with Emulation/Simulation teams to define software requirements and deliver stable platforms.
• Lead wafer and Silicon on Desk bring-up in the lab, providing CDT, partition tables, hardware documentation, and flashing tooling support.
