Software Engineer III, Mobile (Android), Web and Tablets

Google's Platforms and Devices team encompasses computing software platforms across desktop, mobile, and applications, along with first-party devices and services that combine Google AI, software, and hardware. The team builds innovative experiences globally, including the web-based multi-device Google Messages experience.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of software development experience in one or more programming languages, or 1 year with an advanced degree.
• 2 years of experience with Android application development.

Preferred:

• Experience with Kotlin, Android app, and web development.
• Experience debugging Android apps, including network traffic.
• Experience with web front-end development and Angular framework.
• Experience debugging web apps, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and style sheets.
• Familiarity with web standards, browsers, and front-end best practices.
• Familiarity with Java and back-end services.

• Develop new features for Google Messages for Web (messages.google.com/web), the desktop companion web app for Google Messages.
• Integrate features with backend systems and interface with the Google Messages app on Android.
• Collaborate with UX designers and product managers to refine feature requirements.
• Work with Software Engineers to determine the appropriate architecture for features.
