Senior Software Engineer

Google's software engineers develop next-generation technologies that impact billions of users globally. The role involves working on GenAI and Vertex-based AI development tools, focusing on integrating Google's latest Large Language Models (LLMs) with developer productivity tools. The position collaborates closely with Google Cloud AI, Google Research, and other engineering teams, contributing to Google's AI product excellence. Google Cloud serves customers in more than 200 countries, providing enterprise-grade digital transformation solutions and sustainable development tools.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of software development experience in one or more programming languages.
• 3 years experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products.
• 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
• Preferred: Master's or PhD in Computer Science or related field.
• Preferred: 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• Preferred: 3 years developing, training, or applying machine learning models.
• Preferred: 1 year experience in a technical leadership role.
• Preferred: Experience developing accessible technologies.
• Preferred: Experience building Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) or Enterprise Software.

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain features and components for GenAI-powered developer tools focusing on server-side code and middleware interacting with Google's latest LLMs.
• Take end-to-end ownership of moderately complex projects or major features from design through production support.
• Collaborate with product managers, researchers, Site Reliability Engineers (SREs), and engineers to translate requirements into technical specifications and deliver solutions.
• Author and present detailed design documents and participate in design and code reviews to ensure quality and engineering excellence.
• Uphold and advocate software engineering best practices emphasizing code quality, test coverage, system reliability, and performance.
