Technical Support Engineer

AVENGA is hiring for a Senior Technical Support Engineer to join an international team responsible for maintaining stability, security, and reliability of business-critical applications.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Technical Support, Application Support, or a similar IT role.
• Strong knowledge of UNIX/Linux and shell scripting.
• Solid SQL and database skills.
• Good knowledge of at least one programming language, preferably Python.
• Practical experience with monitoring and/or scheduling tools.
• Experience with technologies such as ELK, Kafka, and Zookeeper.
• Understanding of IT Service Management and Incident / Problem / Change Management.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
• Willingness and ability to quickly learn new technologies and systems.
• Experience using AI tools to improve productivity.

• Provide advanced technical support for business applications in a production environment.
• Investigate and resolve incidents and problems of different complexity levels.
• Monitor applications and workflows using tools such as Geneos/ITRS, Airflow, and BMC Control-M.
• Perform troubleshooting and root-cause analysis across UNIX, databases, and connected systems.
• Work regularly with UNIX, shell scripting, SQL, and databases.
• Collaborate with Network, Database, UNIX, and upstream/downstream system teams.
• Support change management and follow incident and fault management procedures.
• Participate in Disaster Recovery tests and coordinate remediation activities.
• Identify operational risks and support resolutions through closure.
• Work with development teams on bug fixes and application improvements.
• Identify and implement opportunities for automation and process optimization.
• Share knowledge and support cross-training within the team.
