Senior UX Designer, Messages

At Google, the Interaction Designers transform complex tasks into intuitive, easy-to-use experiences for billions of people. The role is part of a multi-disciplinary UX team that collaborates with Engineering and Product Management, leveraging user insights to create industry-leading products. The Senior UX Designer for Messages Monetization and Protection focuses on the RCS for Business team, improving consumer experiences for Android and iOS devices across Android Business Communications (ABC) staff in Europe.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 6 years of experience in product design or UX.
• Portfolio or relevant work links included in resume.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of product design or UX experience.
• Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including designers, researchers, engineers, content strategists, and product managers.
• Experience designing end-to-end features through full lifecycle from kickoff to implementation.
• Experience designing for native mobile consumer applications across various device types.

• Develop a deep understanding of users, relevant technologies, and the broader market.
• Work alongside a more junior designer to influence high-level design direction, organize stakeholder worksessions, and provide mentorship.
• Create storyboards, wireframes, high-fidelity designs, and interactive prototypes to guide design and development.
• Present and explain design rationale with attention to data and design storytelling.
• Iterate designs based on user feedback, peer feedback, technical constraints, and market dynamics.
• Support and guide the front-end engineering team to faithfully implement design and direction, adhering to Google's product excellence principles.
