Senior GoLang Sofware Engineer

Wakacje.pl is the largest e-commerce platform in Poland and a network of travel agencies offering a wide range of travel products. Since 2015, it has been part of Wirtualna Polska Holding – the largest Polish group of media and e-commerce companies. The IT team includes over 100 specialists including Developers, DevOps Engineers, Testers, Project Managers, Architects, and Analysts working in Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).

• 7+ years of professional software development experience.
• At least 5 years focused on Go (Golang).
• Proven experience in designing and building distributed systems and microservices.
• Strong understanding of architectural patterns such as Hexagonal and Clean Architecture.
• Proficiency with relational databases, specifically PostgreSQL.
• Hands-on experience with REST APIs and gRPC.
• Familiarity with the Gin Framework.
• Experience with ElasticSearch and Redis.
• English proficiency at a B2 (communicative) level.

Nice to have:

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of message brokers: Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Experience with observability tools: Kibana, Grafana, Sentry.
• Practical understanding of DDD (Domain-Driven Design).
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Experience in process optimization and improving development workflows.

• Design, implement, and maintain high-performance Go-based applications for internal and external clients.
• Ensure clean, scalable, and maintainable code through strict reviews and best practices.
• Identify bottlenecks and optimize existing solutions and overall application performance.
• Act as a technical mentor for the team, supporting leadership in creating Individual Development Plans (IDPs).
• Guide developers through architectural changes.
• Propose new ideas and select appropriate technologies to solve complex business problems.
• Collaborate closely with IT teams and business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver value.
• Create comprehensive unit and integration tests to ensure reliability.
