Mid-Level AI Engineer – Software Development & Machine Learning

Our client is a forward-thinking leader in the tech industry focused on developing cutting-edge AI-powered features and transformative conversational AI systems, internal productivity tools, and advanced AI integration solutions.

• 2+ years of professional experience in software engineering with Python and/or TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Hands-on experience with large language model APIs (Anthropic, OpenAI).
• Strong knowledge of prompt engineering, RAG pipelines, and vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, pgvector).
• Familiarity with agent frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, or CrewAI.
• Competence in REST/GraphQL API design and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Basic understanding of ML fundamentals including embeddings, model evaluation, and failure modes.
• Excellent communication skills with ability to collaborate with senior engineers, product, and design teams.

Nice to have:

• Experience in Insurtech, Fintech, or other regulated industries.
• Certifications or additional expertise in AI/Machine Learning.

• Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered features such as AI raters, conversational AI modules, and productivity tools.
• Integrate large language model APIs (Anthropic, OpenAI) into scalable, production-ready applications.
• Optimize prompt engineering, RAG pipelines, and work with vector databases like Pinecone, Weaviate, and pgvector.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement API and microservice architecture on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Write clean, tested, and efficient code ensuring high-quality deliverables.
• Utilize AI-assisted coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot to accelerate development workflows.
• Engage in continuous learning of ML fundamentals, model evaluation, and understanding limitations to improve model performance.
• Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to peers, product managers, and stakeholders.
