Software Engineering Manager, GCE Engineering Productivity

Google Cloud is a provider of enterprise-grade cloud solutions, helping organizations digitally transform their business. The GCE (Google Compute Engine) Control (EngProd Engineering Productivity) team builds tools, frameworks, and release processes to improve developer productivity and service reliability for Google Compute Engine products, including advanced developer sandboxes and simulation platforms with AI-driven workflows.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience with one or more general-purpose programming languages such as Java, C/C++, or Python.
• 5 years of experience managing internal infrastructure, developer tools, or distributed computing infrastructure.
• 2 years of experience in people management or team leadership.

Nice to have:

• Proven track record of applying AI solutions in DevOps/SDLC realm.

• Manage a team to navigate deep technical problem spaces.
• Lead the Infrastructure and Tooling strategy while balancing various projects and engagements.
• Apply AI-first mindset to the solutions provided.
• Build, grow, and retain top talent and inspire the engineering organization.
• Build cross-functional partnerships and collaborate with developers and product managers to identify and improve productivity and quality through scale and tooling.
