Expert CTO Portfolio Delivery Lead – Technology and Fintech

This role is for a leading international bank seeking a seasoned professional to oversee delivery of complex technology portfolios within the Chief Technology Office, focusing on fintech and technology infrastructure.

• At least 7 years experience in portfolio management, programme delivery, or related senior roles.
• Strong understanding of portfolio management frameworks, methodologies, and best practices.
• Proven problem-solving skills including negotiation, documentation, and presenting recommendations.
• Critical thinking and resilience to meet challenging deadlines.
• Excellent stakeholder management, presentation, and communication skills with senior-level stakeholders.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities to engage and align diverse teams.
• Deep knowledge of financial planning, forecasting, variance management, and project accounting.
• Strong time management and experience with continuous improvement initiatives.
• Solid understanding of technology infrastructure, fintech platforms, and digital transformation projects.
• Advanced reporting skills for executive audiences.

Nice to have:

• Certifications in portfolio or project management (e.g., PgMP, MSP, PMI-PMP).
• Experience with HSBC’s project management frameworks or similar financial industry standards.

• Partner with Area stakeholders, Project and Programme Sponsors, and Transformation Leads to facilitate effective portfolio delivery.
• Serve as the primary contact between Areas and the Central PMO function for streamlined communication.
• Support achievement of portfolio outcomes by aligning projects with organizational strategies.
• Monitor project progress, report on portfolio health, and escalate risks and issues to senior leadership.
• Ensure programmes comply with HSBC frameworks and standards.
• Assist in annual planning, providing advice on best methods and conducting resource demand health checks.
• Coordinate inter-programme linkages for cohesive delivery within HSBC Technology.
• Track and report on programmes and projects outside direct ownership, maintaining oversight.
