Technical Lead, Cluster Management System

Google Cloud develops next-generation technologies impacting billions of users globally, including projects in information retrieval, distributed computing, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design, and mobile. The Cluster Management System team focuses on supporting various workloads, hardware, and security measures to improve efficiency, scalability, and security. The team consists of small independent groups working on infrastructure projects within Google Cloud.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience in software architecture.
• Preferred: 2 years of experience working with and influencing teams.
• Preferred: Coding experience in unmanaged languages such as Rust, C, C++.
• Preferred: Experience with concurrency, multithreading, and synchronization.

• Understand the guest (virtualized) and host (hypervisor) environments and devise secure connectivity solutions.
• Collaborate with peers to identify, design, create, and optimize software features on Google's hardware stack.
• Lead design and build processes for infrastructure to automatically measure and detect performance regressions at scale.
• Address complex security vulnerabilities.
• Develop code in C++.
