C/C++ Embedded Software Engineer

Ericsson is a market leader in connectivity, focusing on advanced mobile broadband and industries like automotive, transport, and utilities. The RAN Performance organization designs, implements, and tests 5G software features, specifically baseband software within the 5G product. The role is part of a newly created product organization in Krakow, Poland, working on the 5G UPC (User Plane Control) software within the baseband scheduler department.

• Hands-on experience and knowledge in C/C++ programming
• Experience in development of real-time embedded systems
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• General programming skills advantageous, e.g., Python
• Experience with AI-powered developer tools in daily software workflows (e.g., AI code assistants, automated code review, AI-driven testing or debugging tools)
• Knowledge of 5G and LTE (4G) standards (3GPP) is an advantage
• Clean code programming style and mindset
• MSc/BSc degree in technical subject or equivalent knowledge
• Keen interest in long-term evolution and success of Baseband SW product
• Ability to work well in teams and within a global organization
• Good English language skills in writing and conversation

• Develop new features for the 5G RAN, including all design phases from early studies to live network feedback
• Improve quality of the scheduling software
• Collaborate with architects on architecture details and concerns
• Implement UPC domain care backlog items
• Drive technology leadership in the domain

The role requires good English language skills for both writing and conversation. It uses a hybrid working model with 3 days per week from the office in Krakow, Poland.
