Senior Staff Software Engineer, Home and Health

Google's software engineers develop next-generation technologies impacting billions of users. The Platforms and Devices team focuses on computing software platforms across environments and first party devices, integrating Google AI, software, and hardware.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software engineering with a focus on backend architecture, distributed systems, and large-scale data processing.
• 5 years of experience with design and architecture; and testing/launching software products.
• Experience operating as a technical leader overseeing multiple projects and setting technical direction.
• Preferred: Master's or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Preferred: 5 years in technical leadership roles with cross-functional or cross-business project experience.
• Preferred: Experience integrating generative AI tools or Large Language Model (LLM) interfaces.
• Preferred: Experience with complex authentication systems, token handling, and legacy user migrations.
• Preferred: Domain expertise in health data systems, data reconciliation, and wearable device integration.
• Preferred: Experience developing and optimizing automated testing frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and developer productivity tools.

• Provide technical leadership on high-impact projects.
• Influence and coach a distributed team of Engineers.
• Facilitate alignment and clarity across teams on goals, outcomes, and timelines.
• Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance large-scale software solutions.
