Senior Mainframe IBM Z Storage Specialist – Enterprise IT

This role is for a Senior Mainframe IBM Z Storage Specialist working within a leading enterprise IT environment, focusing on managing and supporting IBM zSeries storage infrastructure. The position is based in Krakow and offers a hybrid work model.

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience with zSeries Storage Management.
• Strong skills in IBM DS8K disk hardware installation, design, upgrade, and support (including DSCLI scripting, HMC GUI).
• Experience with IBM Virtual Tape Solutions (TS7700).
• Knowledge of Broadcom (Brocade) DCX hardware, FICON, and FIBRE concepts.
• Solid understanding of IBM core technologies such as z/OS, TSO, SDSF, JCL, IDCAMS, IWS.
• Expertise in IBM storage solutions including DFHSM, DFDSS, ICKDSF, DFSMS (OAM), TDMF, GDPS, CSM.
• Familiarity with Broadcom (CA): CA1, CA Vantage, CA Disk, CA Allocate, CA View.

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of zSeries Systems Programming.
• Experience supporting large enterprise environments.

• Root-cause analysis proficiency.

• Additional knowledge in zSeries Systems Programming concepts and technologies.
• Proven experience in scalable capacity planning and project execution.
• Effective communication skills in English at a communicative level.

• Hands-on management of zSeries Storage infrastructure, including hardware installation, design, upgrade, and support (DSCLI scripting, HMC GUI).
• Deploy and support IBM DS8K disk hardware and Virtual Tape Solutions (TS7700).
• Manage Broadcom (Brocade) DCX hardware, FICON/FIBRE configurations, SanNav, and Maps utilization.
• Support incident, change, and problem management processes within a large-scale enterprise environment.
• Conduct capacity planning and forecast storage growth to ensure scalable and efficient infrastructure.
• Collaborate across teams to identify risks and implement solutions proactively.
