Lead Java Developer

iTeamly is an international engineering team building modern digital solutions for the travel and aviation industry.

• 7+ years of professional experience in backend software development
• Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring / Spring Boot
• Solid experience designing and developing REST APIs
• Practical experience with microservices architecture
• Experience with relational databases and data modelling
• Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and engineering best practices
• Experience taking ownership of complex technical solutions from design to production
• Experience mentoring engineers or acting as a technical leader within a team
• Good understanding of testing practices, CI/CD, and modern software delivery processes
• Good command of English
• Ability to work independently, make technical decisions, and drive solutions forward

Nice to have:

• Experience working in the travel, aviation, or e-commerce industry
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Knowledge of event-driven architecture and messaging systems (e.g. Kafka)
• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience working with AI-powered solutions, including integrating LLM-based features, AI APIs, or AI-assisted development tools
• Interest in applying AI to improve engineering productivity and software delivery
• Experience working in international, distributed engineering teams

• Leading the design and development of scalable backend applications using Java
• Taking ownership of technical solutions, architecture decisions, and engineering standards
• Designing and developing REST APIs, integrations, and distributed systems
• Working with microservices architecture and cloud-based solutions
• Driving technical discussions, code reviews, and knowledge sharing across the team
• Mentoring and supporting other engineers to help them grow technically
• Collaborating closely with Product, Frontend, QA, DevOps, and other technical teams
• Ensuring reliability, scalability, and maintainability of delivered solutions
• Contributing to improving development processes, engineering practices, and overall product quality
