Senior Software Engineer, BigLake Federation

Google Cloud is a global enterprise technology provider delivering enterprise-grade solutions and tools to help developers build and digitally transform businesses. The team in Warsaw focuses on BigLake and BigQuery products that enable enterprise-level petabyte-scale data analytics and cross-cloud data federation.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of software development experience with general-purpose programming languages such as C++, Java, Go, or Python.
• Experience in system design, distributed systems, or large-scale data processing.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience working with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud and multi-cloud environments.
• Familiarity with big data technologies and open-source data ecosystems like Apache Iceberg, Apache Spark.
• Experience with enterprise data platforms such as Workday or Salesforce.
• Demonstrated technical leadership, guiding ambiguous initiatives and mentoring engineers.
• Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration skills.

• Design, build, and maintain high-performance, scalable distributed services to enable data federation across multiple clouds and enterprise platforms.
• Own end-to-end technical execution of complex initiatives from architecture to global production rollout.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship, driving engineering best practices.
• Communicate technical goals, status, and trade-offs to engineering peers and stakeholders.
• Influence the technical roadmap for BigLake Federation in collaboration with global leads.
