Senior Software Engineer, Embedded Systems/Firmware

This position is within the Google Pixel team, which designs and delivers advanced mobile devices and services based on the Android platform, integrating cutting-edge software and hardware.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of software development experience in C++ and C.
• 3 years of experience with embedded operating systems.
• 2 years of experience working with the Linux kernel and Android systems.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or related field.
• Experience as BSP team lead or project lead.
• 7 years of Android system software development or management.
• 3 years of experience with Android BSP focused on low-level hardware interactions and device driver integration, or upstream Linux Kernel.
• Excellent technical documentation and English communication skills.

• Develop and sustain the whole system software stack for Pixel devices.
• Build Google SoC and in-market devices system software kernel sustaining.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve software quality.
• Triage, debug, and resolve product or system issues impacting hardware, network, or services.
• Review code developed by others and provide feedback to ensure best practices.
