Ruby on Rails Developer – Senior

SOFTSWISS is expanding its team to develop cutting-edge gaming solutions with its Casino Platform, a full-service modular software platform managing online casino operations.

• 4+ years of commercial experience with Ruby on Rails; deep understanding of Ruby internals and Rails conventions.
• Strong SQL and PostgreSQL skills, including indexing, query planning, and migrations on large tables without downtime.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems fundamentals: message queues, idempotency, eventual consistency, background jobs (Sidekiq or similar), caching (Redis).
• Hands-on experience with AI coding tools in daily work, with clear judgment on their appropriate use.
• Ability to recognize plausible hallucinated APIs during code review.
• Ability to critically evaluate and verify AI-generated code through tests.
• Experience designing and consuming REST and/or gRPC APIs; familiarity with OpenAPI.
• Proficiency with Git, CI/CD pipelines, Docker; comfortable with reading Kubernetes manifests and logs.
• Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Sentry, or OpenTelemetry.
• Upper-Intermediate or higher proficiency in English and Russian.

Nice to have:

• Experience integrating LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, open-weight models) into production Ruby applications.
• Familiarity with RAG pipelines, vector databases (pgvector, Qdrant), or agent frameworks.
• Understanding of security and data privacy for AI features including PII handling and prompt injection.
• Experience in fintech, payments, or iGaming with knowledge of regulatory and responsible gaming requirements.
• Contributions to open-source Ruby projects, talks, or technical writing.
• Working knowledge of Go, Elixir, or TypeScript for cross-service work.

• Design, build and evolve Ruby on Rails services for a high-load iGaming platform including APIs, payment and wallet flows, real-time game integrations, and back-office tooling.
• Utilize AI coding assistants (Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) for scaffolding, refactoring, test generation, and code review, ensuring quality of merged code.
• Integrate LLM-based features such as fraud and risk signals, player-support automation, content generation, and internal analytics copilots into the product.
• Own performance and reliability by profiling hot paths, tuning PostgreSQL queries, designing caching and background-processing strategies, and resolving incidents.
• Review code written by humans and AI, mentor mid-level engineers, and help define team standards for responsible AI usage.
• Participate in architecture discussions, technical planning, and cross-team initiatives.
