Software Engineer III, Health and Home

Google's Health and Home organization focuses on developing technologies to take care of people inside their homes and through their health. The Health and Home Infrastructure team develops scalable and efficient infrastructure, internal developer platforms, APIs, data services, and systems to build user trust, expanding usage of AI. The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's computing software platforms across desktop, mobile, applications, and first-party devices integrating AI, software, and hardware to create innovative user experiences.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with software development or 1 year with an advanced degree in an industry setting.
• 2 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, networks, compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
• 2 years of experience in software development with Java or C++.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
• 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• Experience developing accessible technologies.
• Experience refactoring and working in legacy systems.
• Experience with large, distributed infrastructure and working across multiple systems.

• Write product or system development code.
• Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
• Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices.
• Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
• Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing sources of issues and their impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
