Senior Java Engineer (m/f/n)

InPost Group is an innovative European out of home deliveries company operating across several countries with over 10,000 employees worldwide. The company offers services such as InPost Pay, a unified e-commerce payment and delivery platform, and the Merchant Portal, a central hub for merchant-facing services. The roles are available in hybrid or fully remote setups in Warsaw, Kraków, or remote locations.

• 5+ years of commercial Java development (Java 11/17+, Spring Boot, Spring Security, JPA/Hibernate)
• Strong experience with distributed systems, including microservices and event-driven patterns
• Deep JVM internals knowledge: memory model, GC tuning, concurrency, performance profiling
• Expertise with Apache Kafka (producers, consumers, consumer groups, offset management, error handling)
• Proficient with PostgreSQL relational modelling, indexing, query plans, and schema migrations
• Day-to-day production experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Familiarity with Maven/Gradle, Git, JIRA, Confluence, Code Reviews, CI/CD
• Ability to work effectively with non-technical stakeholders and produce readable design documents
• English language proficiency at B2+ for communication
• Proficient in utilizing AI tools and large language models (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude) to enhance development productivity
• Capable of critically evaluating AI-generated outputs within professional workflows

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with Kotlin development
• Knowledge of Domain-Driven Design (DDD), CQRS, Event Sourcing
• Experience with gRPC, GraphQL
• Familiar with GCP services: Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, GKE, Cloud Spanner
• Experience with MongoDB
• Background in high-throughput, low-latency systems
• Experience in e-commerce, logistics, or fintech sectors

Engineering:

• Design and implement high-performance microservices in Java / Spring Boot
• Build and maintain event-driven integrations using Apache Kafka
• Own the data layer: schema design, query optimisation, migrations (PostgreSQL)
• Work within a containerised cloud-native environment: Docker, Kubernetes, GCP
• Maintain code quality through reviews, testing standards, and CI/CD discipline
• Mentor team members and promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement

Ownership & Delivery:

• Take full ownership of features end-to-end from requirements to production
• Collaborate directly with business stakeholders to align on solutions
• Understand product deeply including business context and customer impact
• Navigate complexity across multiple teams in a large organization
• Write clear technical documentation such as System Design docs, RFCs, and ADRs
• Proactively identify and address technical debt before issues arise
• Actively participate in architecture discussions with well-reasoned proposals
