Java Technical Lead

apreel Sp. z o.o. is hiring for a role focused on designing and implementing microservice architectures in Java. The position involves developing APIs and integrations communicating with a platform named EIS and client group systems. The job includes technical decision-making and system architecture contributions within the scope of the program objectives.

• Active coding for about 75% of working time with very good practical production experience in Java.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in web system design and development.
• Experience in building microservice architectures and distributed systems.
• Very good knowledge of architectural and integration patterns.
• Experience in API design and system integration.
• Practical knowledge of Domain-Driven Design (DDD).
• Practical familiarity with relational databases (SQL, query optimization).
• Experience with Event-Driven Architecture and end-to-end observability.
• Knowledge of application security principles.
• Experience in code review, mentoring, and leading a technical team.
• Experience in inter-team collaboration and technological decision-making including risk assessment.
• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• English language proficiency at minimum B2 level.

Nice to have:

• Basic/practical knowledge of cloud platforms (preferably Azure).
• Knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps practices.
• Familiarity with Agentic AI / AI in Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), e.g., AI for development automation and architectural decision support.

• Design and implement solutions based on microservice architecture in Java.
• Create and develop APIs, integrations, and communication with EIS platform and client group systems.
• Co-create system architecture and participate in technical decision-making aligned with program assumptions.
• Ensure quality, performance, security, and scalability of delivered solutions.
• Design solutions using architectural patterns, Event-Driven Architecture, and Domain-Driven Design (DDD).
• Participate in analyzing, designing, and estimating business and technical requirements.
• Support Product Owners, analysts, and architects assessing feasibility and identifying technical risks.
• Engage in Discovery and Inception workshops including decomposition of Epics into Features and backlog preparation.
• Conduct code reviews, mentor programmers, and develop technical competencies of the team.
• Support the team in resolving technical problems and maintaining high software development standards.
• Collaborate with project teams, architectural and integration teams, and external suppliers.
• Co-define and implement CI/CD processes, observability, and DevOps practices.
• Support preparation and maintenance of development, integration, and testing environments, including solutions based on Docker and Kubernetes.
• Identify, analyze, and escalate technical risks impacting program execution.
• Promote usage of modern AI tools and Agentic AI in software development and automation.
