Software Engineer - Senior

Wakacje.pl is the largest e-commerce platform in Poland and a network of travel agencies offering a wide range of travel products. Since 2015, it has been part of Wirtualna Polska Holding, the largest Polish group of media and e-commerce companies. The company offers thousands of domestic and international trips, travel insurance, airport parking, and holiday vouchers, operating across 7 countries.

• Minimum 7 years of professional experience with React and TypeScript.
• Proficiency in Next.js.
• Experience writing frontend unit and integration tests.
• Knowledge of web accessibility standards (WCAG, WAI-ARIA) and building accessible UIs.
• Strong focus on frontend performance with hands-on experience optimizing Core Web Vitals.
• Experience building and maintaining high-traffic, large-scale ecommerce applications.
• Experience with design systems and component libraries ensuring UI consistency and reusability.
• Experience designing and consuming REST services.
• Proficient in using Chrome DevTools.
• Strong communication skills in English (minimum B2 level).
• Good self-organization skills.
• Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT).

Nice to have:

• SEO/SEA experience.
• Experience with Playwright or other automated end-to-end testing setups.
• Familiarity with any backend language.
• Practical knowledge of CI/CD concepts and Docker containerization.
• Knowledge of UX/UI concepts and tools such as Figma.
• Experience maintaining and refactoring legacy or mature codebases.

• Take ownership of React development for frontend applications focusing on modularity, performance, and user experience.
• Understand and work within a complex system processing travel data from seven countries.
• Collaborate closely with backend engineers using Symfony, PHP, Go, data engineers, and product owners.
• Mentor teammates, conduct empathetic code reviews, and support team growth.
• Write tests and advocate for best practices balancing speed and maintainability.
• Actively participate in agile rituals including dailies, retrospectives, and planning meetings.
