Software Engineer III, AI Development Tools Platform

Google develops next-generation technologies that impact billions of users worldwide, focusing on various areas such as information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, AI, natural language processing, and more. The role involves working within the Google Cloud AI Research team, which addresses AI challenges across multiple industries and collaborates with product teams to innovate and bring AI solutions to real-world applications.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with backend development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
• Experience with software development in Go.
• Experience in developing and deploying applications on cloud infrastructure such as Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience building applications for enterprise needs including AI safety, data residency, and integration with existing systems.
• Familiarity with AI, machine learning, large language models (LLMs), or AI agents.

• Write product or system development code.
• Participate in or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
• Design and implement the AI Developer Tools Platform and related services under the Gemini Enterprise umbrella.
• Collaborate closely with teams and stakeholders across Cloud AI and other areas.
• Work with customers including Antigravity, Gemini Code Assist, Gemini CLI, and Android Studio to address their needs.
• Manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
• Apply innovative AI techniques to increase productivity.
