Software Engineer in Test in the EU

Our customer is an established financial services provider offering solutions for long-term financial planning and investment needs. The project focuses on modernizing retail technology and establishing a secure, scalable enterprise data and analytics platform to transform reporting capabilities and support regulatory and operational reporting, advanced analytics, data migration, and future strategic data products.

• 5+ years of software testing experience with strong hands-on expertise in data testing.
• Experience testing enterprise-scale data solutions and complex data platforms.
• Strong knowledge of databases and SQL, including data validation and reconciliation.
• Hands-on experience with Databricks and ETL/data pipeline testing.
• Programming/scripting skills in Python, C#, and/or TypeScript.
• Experience designing, building, and maintaining automated testing frameworks for data solutions.
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps (ADO), ADO Pipelines, and GitHub.
• Ability to work closely with developers and maintain test code/repositories.
• English language proficiency from Intermediate+ and above.

Nice to have:

• Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, DAX, and PySpark / Apache Spark.
• Experience testing Power BI reports, paginated reports, and dashboards.
• Knowledge of data modeling principles and practices.
• Experience with AI/LLM-based testing approaches.
• Experience with GitHub Copilot.
• Microsoft Fabric certifications (DP-600 or DP-700).
• Databricks certification (DP-750).
• Previous Data Engineering experience or strong data engineering background.

• Understand data and data-record testing requirements.
• Analyze data testing requirements and define appropriate test coverage.
• Design automated tests instead of manual SQL validation.
• Build data test automation framework from scratch.
• Develop test code alongside developers.
• Maintain test code in GitHub or separate test repositories.
• Automate test design, execution, and reporting.
• Integrate automated tests into Azure DevOps (ADO) pipelines / CI/CD.
• Validate data against source systems.
• Perform automated data reconciliation.
• Test data transformations / ETL processes.
• Work with databases and write SQL queries.
• Test data within Databricks.
• Test Power BI reports, dashboards, and paginated reports.
• Ensure automated tests provide consistent and reliable results.
• Work with AI/LLMs as part of the testing approach.
• Consider verification both at individual test and enterprise application levels.
• Collaborate closely with developers during development and testing activities.
