Systems Engineer - Senior

SOFTSWISS develops a software platform used by clients to launch and manage online sports betting businesses. The role is within the Sportsbook team focused on infrastructure and automation.

• 5+ years of experience as a System Engineer, SRE, DevOps or Platform Engineer
• Deep understanding of Linux-like operating systems administration and troubleshooting
• Practical experience with Kubernetes
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, OCI)
• Experience with bare-metal infrastructure across various hosting providers
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Pulumi, Crossplane)
• Experience with GitOps approach (Flux, ArgoCD)
• Experience with GitLab/GitHub CI/CD pipelines setup and maintenance
• Experience with configuration management systems (Ansible, Saltstack)
• Experience with CDN, traffic and domain management (CloudFlare, Fastly, Akamai, AWS CloudFront/Route53)
• Experience with monitoring systems (Prometheus, Grafana)
• Practical experience with PostgreSQL clusters (Patroni, CNPG)
• Practical experience with Kafka management (Kafka, Strimzi)
• English and Russian language proficiency at B1+ level (Intermediate+)

Nice to have:

• Experience with Cluster API (CAPI) and fleet controllers (Sveltos, Fleet)
• Experience with Crossplane
• Experience with Oracle OCI
• Understanding of distributed systems
• Programming skills in Bash, Python, or Go
• Experience working in Agile methodologies (Kanban, Scrum)
• Demonstrated ability to leverage AI-powered tools and platforms to optimize workflows

• Communicate and collaborate with product development team and stakeholders
• Design, deploy, and manage Kubernetes platform based on Cluster API for bare-metal and cloud providers
• Setup and maintain infrastructure for production and staging environments
• Design, deploy, and manage GitLab CI pipelines, GitOps, and Infrastructure as Code
• Respond to monitoring events with periodic on-call duties day and night
• Optimize infrastructure maintenance and support processes
• Participate in the design of complex IT systems
