DevOps Engineer (AI, GitLab)

Sopra Steria is a major European tech company specializing in consulting, digital services, and software development with over 55,000 employees worldwide. The Polish branch operates as a Global Delivery Center from Katowice with around 1,000 specialists. Departments include Digital Platform Services focusing on cloud, operating systems, virtualization, databases, storage, networking, security, and Application Services covering software development, data engineering, testing, CRM, ITSM, and ERP integrations.

• 5+ years of experience with GitLab and CI/CD pipelines
• 3+ years expertise in Docker and Kubernetes container orchestration
• Good knowledge of Data Science and Machine Learning principles and AI frameworks such as Haystack and Langchain
• Expertise with cloud services like AWS or Azure
• Proficiency in Terraform for Infrastructure as Code
• Proficiency in Python and development tools including Git, GitLab, Jira, and Confluence
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools including structured logging and metrics collection (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana)
• Experience with database systems such as PostgreSQL and search engines like Elasticsearch
• EU citizenship is required
• Fluent English (B2/C1)
• Availability for occasional business trips abroad and visits to the Katowice office

• Design and maintain AI infrastructure including cloud, on-premises, or hybrid setups for AI development, training, and inference
• Build and maintain CI/CD and MLOps pipelines for code, data workflows, model training, testing, validation, and deployment
• Manage containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes to deploy AI applications reliably
• Support transition of machine learning models to production ensuring reproducibility, versioning, and controlled releases
• Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and performance tracking for infrastructure and AI model endpoints including tools like Prometheus
• Optimize infrastructure and deployment processes to ensure scalability, reliability, and performance
• Apply security and compliance controls for infrastructure, access, secrets, software dependencies, and data protection
• Manage environments and configurations using Infrastructure as Code with tools like Terraform
• Collaborate with data scientists, AI engineers, software developers, cybersecurity specialists, and business teams
• Support governance of data and model lifecycles including versioning, auditability, lineage, backup, and recovery
• Troubleshoot incidents, deployment issues, and performance bottlenecks
