Software Engineer III, Fitness Metrics in Google Health

Google develops next-generation technologies that impact billions of users, focusing on areas including distributed computing, large-scale system design, AI, and mobile applications. The Platforms and Devices team works on software platforms across devices and environments, integrating AI, software, and hardware to enhance user interaction worldwide.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of software development experience in languages such as Java, or 1 year with an advanced degree.
• Preferred: Master's or PhD in Computer Science or related fields.
• Preferred: 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• Preferred: Experience developing accessible technologies.

• Partner with Research and Algorithm teams to translate fitness and physiological models into scalable backend code and validate against benchmarks.
• Design and build resilient, low-latency, high-throughput data processing pipelines and APIs.
• Collaborate with mobile engineers and product partners to deliver accurate metrics and assist in creating comprehensive backend testing strategies.
• Analyze backend data streams to detect anomalies and edge cases.
• Identify limitations in existing metrics pipelines and propose scalable solutions.
