Business Product Owner

Our client is a Polish company developing and operating its own business platform, supporting day-to-day processes and cooperation with customers. The company combines business operations, customer-facing teams and technology, continuously improving its platform, processes and ways of working. Its development is driven not only by technical needs, but also by feedback from customers, Sales, Customer Lifecycle, management and the market.

• Previous experience in Product Ownership, Product Management, Business Analysis, Business Product Management or a similar business/technology-facing role.
• Strong understanding of business processes and the ability to connect individual requests with wider business goals.
• Ability to analyse problems independently and distinguish a genuine business need from a proposed solution or a local request.
• Experience working closely with both business stakeholders and IT/technology teams.
• Ability to translate business problems into clear, structured requirements and actionable input for developers.
• Good understanding of software development processes and enough technical awareness to discuss feasibility, dependencies, effort and risks with IT.
• Strong analytical and prioritization skills.
• Ability to communicate with senior stakeholders and challenge assumptions when necessary.
• Ownership mindset — you do not stop at collecting requirements; you follow the topic through to delivery and business acceptance.
• Very good communication skills and the ability to work across different departments.

• Collecting and analysing product and business needs from Sales, Customer Lifecycle, customers, department heads, management, IT and the market.
• Challenging requests and identifying the underlying problem before proposing a solution.
• Assessing the potential impact of initiatives on revenue, retention, operational efficiency, data quality, customer satisfaction, margins, scalability and business risk.
• Working with department heads to understand the actual importance and scale of individual topics.
• Preparing recommendations and presenting them to the Managing Director for business prioritization.
• Maintaining and prioritizing the business-product backlog and roadmap.
• Translating business needs into actionable input for IT, including requirements, user stories, mock-ups, use cases, success criteria, and expected outcomes.
• Working closely with the technology owner to assess feasibility, effort, dependencies, risks, and possible implementation approaches.
• Monitoring the progress of initiatives and ensuring that the original business objective is not lost during delivery.
• Supporting business acceptance and evaluating whether delivered solutions solve the original problem.
• Identifying recurring issues and patterns that may indicate a broader product, process or quality problem.
