Senior Platform Engineer

Hard Skills - Must-Have:

• 5+ years professional Linux sysadmin / DevOps / SRE / Platform Engineering experience.
• Docker fluency: writing, debugging, and optimizing Dockerfiles and multi-service compose stacks.
• Networking fundamentals: DNS, TLS, HTTP semantics, reverse proxies, load balancers.
• Scripting: Bash plus at least one of Python or similar (Go/Ruby).
• Hands-on CI/CD pipeline design with any modern system.
• Production operations experience including on-call, postmortems, and capacity planning.
• Familiarity with at least one major cloud (AWS, GCP, or Azure) including load-balancing, object-storage, and managed-database primitives.
• Git fluency.
• Experience using AI coding assistants and agent-based workflows in real operations.
• Strong written English for runbooks, RFCs, and postmortems.

Hard Skills - Nice-to-Have:

• Kubernetes operational experience (CKA welcome but not required).
• Intermediate or deeper knowledge of Terraform or Ansible.
• Multi-cloud literacy with experience shipping on more than one of AWS, GCP, Azure.
• Observability stacks: Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, OpenTelemetry, Sentry.
• Database operations beyond CRUD: replication, point-in-time recovery, query tuning.
• IPFS or other content-addressable / peer-to-peer storage operational experience.
• Security hardening knowledge including OWASP, basic pen-testing literacy, secrets-management tooling (Vault, SOPS, AWS SM).
• Cost engineering experience with cloud bill optimization.
• Cloud or Kubernetes certifications.

Soft Skills:

• Calm under outages, prioritizing problem-solving over blame.
• Pragmatism in technology adoption, discerning appropriate use of Kubernetes.
• Documentation discipline: maintaining runbooks.
• Comfortable saying "no" or "not yet" to premature complexity.

• Operate the production system: deploys, rollbacks, capacity, incident response.
• Design and execute the scaling roadmap including horizontal scaling, load balancing, caching layers, object-storage offload, database replication, IPFS-node fan-out.
• Evaluate and integrate cloud building blocks such as managed databases, object storage, CDN, load balancers.
• Stand up CI/CD pipelines (greenfield, likely GitHub Actions) covering test, build, image push, and deploy across all services.
• Establish observability: metrics, logs, error tracking, SLOs, and meaningful alerts.
• Manage TLS / ACME automation, DNS, and secrets handling to replace hardcoded credentials with proper secret-management.
• Introduce infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or comparable) to make the production system reproducible.
• Use AI coding assistants to author IaC modules, runbooks, and incident-response playbooks.
