Senior PHP Engineer (Mexico)

Lendable is a UK-based fintech company with over 700 employees, profitable since 2017, backed by investors including Balderton Capital and Goldman Sachs. The company has rebuilt major consumer finance products such as loans, credit cards, and car finance, and is expanding internationally, targeting the UK and US markets. The role is part of the Mexico expansion team, focusing on launching a new mobile finance product.

• Based in Europe or Mexico, or willing to relocate to Mexico.
• Strong English language skills (written and spoken).
• High degree of ownership and autonomy.
• Modern PHP development experience (PHP 8.0+), fluent in latest PHP features and best practices.
• Solid grasp of a modern PHP framework such as Symfony or Laravel.
• Experience with Domain Driven Design, Message-Driven Systems, Event Sourcing, and CQRS.
• Excellent automated testing skills (unit, integration, functional).
• Desire to learn, collaborate, and contribute ideas within a highly collaborative team.

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with microservices architecture and financial systems.
• Experience experimenting with AI tooling to enhance productivity.
• Experience in a cross-functional environment.

• Take ownership across a broad remit, making decisions impacting Lendable's direction and success.
• Work in small, resourceful teams to solve problems and find smarter solutions.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers to guide and agree on API behaviors through documented contracts.
