Engineering Tech Lead

• At least 2 years of proven technical team leadership experience including delivery leadership, mentoring, or technical ownership.
• Over 8 years of enterprise application development with strong backend engineering expertise.
• Hands-on experience with microservices and micro-database architecture.
• Experience with event-driven systems.
• Expert level knowledge of Java and Spring Framework (Boot/Data/REST/Security/Profiles).
• Front-end experience with ReactJS and TypeScript; able to contribute meaningfully.
• Experience with API specification/documentation using Swagger / OpenAPI.
• Strong automated testing skills using frameworks like JUnit, mocking frameworks, H2, HttpUnit or equivalents.
• Experience in writing and supporting batch programs.
• Strong understanding of logging and error handling in production systems.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience in cloud services development.
• Usage of code scanning tools and resolving related findings.
• Comfortable working in Agile/Scrum teams using JIRA and Confluence/Wiki.

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of Risk & Compliance domain, especially Model Risk Management.
• Experience with Spring Integration and/or Spring Batch.
• Experience with WebSockets / SSE or binary protocols.
• Experience with workflow engines/libraries such as BPMN, Flowable, Activiti, Drools and knowledge of micro-frontends.

• Provide technical leadership, take ownership of delivery, and support team members daily.
• Design, build, and support backend services and APIs using Java and Spring (Boot/Data/REST/Security).
• Create solution designs and documentation, including architecture and UML diagrams.
• Deliver end-to-end features including React + TypeScript UI work as required.
• Implement microservices and micro-database patterns with clear API contracts.
• Build integrations using event-driven architecture.
• Develop workflow-driven capabilities using BPMN and integrate workflow components.
• Engineer for production readiness with logging, error handling, resilience, and observability.
• Develop and maintain batch processing workloads.
• Drive quality with automated unit/integration testing, code scanning, and remediation.
• Containerise and deploy using Docker and Kubernetes, supporting cloud services development.
• Work in an Agile (Scrum) model using JIRA and documentation in Confluence/Wiki.
