Senior Backend Engineer (PHP/Python)

• Strong commercial experience in backend development with PHP and Python.
• Very good practical knowledge of Symfony.
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL and SQL.
• Experience building and maintaining REST APIs and system integrations.
• Practical experience with data import, transformation, or processing pipelines.
• Understanding of software architecture and backend design principles.
• Familiarity with Git and modern software development practices.
• Practical experience using AI-powered assistants like Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor to improve software delivery.
• Ability to understand business requirements and propose technical improvements.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ownership mindset and ability to work independently.
• Good command of English.

Nice to have:

• Experience with Apache Airflow.
• Familiarity with Snowflake or other analytics platforms.
• Experience with AWS.
• Hands-on experience with web scraping solutions.
• Experience working with business intelligence or data analytics environments.
• Basic frontend development skills with JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap, HTML, and CSS.
• Experience applying GenAI within SDLC workflows and tool integrations.
• Interest in emerging AI-driven practices such as agent-based workflows and AI-augmented development.

• Developing and maintaining business-critical platforms supporting commercial and financial operations.
• Building and enhancing backend solutions using PHP and Python.
• Developing REST APIs and integrations with external data sources.
• Designing and maintaining data import, transformation, and processing pipelines.
• Working with PostgreSQL and SQL to support application functionality and data processing.
• Contributing to the development of the Data Collection Platform, including API integrations and web scraping.
• Collaborating closely with Commercial, Finance, Product, and Engineering teams to translate business needs into effective technical solutions.
• Participating in an Agile environment with 2-week sprints and quarterly planning cycles.
• Contributing to code quality, architecture, and continuous improvement of the platforms.
