Application Support Engineer

HSBC Technology Poland is part of HSBC, a global banking and financial services organisation operating in 64 countries and territories. The role supports the private banking business using the Avaloq platform, a leading wealth management and banking platform.

• 5+ years of IT experience in application/support roles within banking.
• Bachelor's or graduate degree.
• Knowledge of the Avaloq Front Platform.
• Experience with Windows, Unix, and Linux for BAU activities like file transfers and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in PL-SQL and basic knowledge of Oracle DB.
• Experience with production batch tools such as Control-M, Autosys, and Zena.
• Understanding of ITIL processes: Incident, Problem, and Change Management.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication skills to engage internal/external stakeholders and end users.
• Fluency in spoken and written English.

Nice to have:

• Avaloq ACP certification.
• ITIL Foundation certificate.
• Scripting experience, e.g., shell scripting.

• Build and maintain strong functional knowledge of applications and underlying data to perform impact analysis and troubleshoot.
• Manage the incident lifecycle end-to-end, including triage, investigation, escalation, and closure.
• Raise and manage problem tickets (PRBs) while informing and engaging relevant teams.
• Distinguish between incidents and service requests and fulfill reporting requests.
• Own end-of-day batch processing in the production environment.
• Conduct daily health checks and application monitoring.
• Manage end-user expectations and maintain clear communication with stakeholders.
• Support shift-based operating model including UK shift coverage, weekend on-call, and ad hoc weekend support.
