Senior Test Engineer

HSBC is one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world, operating in 64 countries and territories. The company uses the Avaloq platform to support private banking services and products, offering end-to-end wealth management and banking solutions. The platform connects multiple client and operational functions and integrates with over 200 fintech and technology partners. The role involves working with business stakeholders, technology teams, architects, vendors, and control functions to deliver Avaloq-based solutions across their full lifecycle.

• Strong testing background, including test automation using TestMaster.
• Solid understanding of the Private Banking domain.
• Experience working on the Avaloq platform, including scripting and DDIC; knowledge of Avaloq reporting/interfaces.
• Proven debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to design and develop IT solutions aligned with agreed designs and customer needs.
• Accountability for unit and integration test coverage, collaborating with Test Engineers.
• Strong leadership skills with confidence engaging senior stakeholders across systems and functions.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in English (written and verbal).
• Ability to define and document solutions and changes with structured analysis.
• Experience working across multiple functional domains and adaptability to new business areas.

• Build test automation capability for the GPB Core Banking Platform (Avaloq).
• Lead design and development of an Avaloq Test Suite with high automation coverage.
• Optimize automation levels to minimize manual intervention during testing and operations.
• Ensure products and services meet mandatory and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Maintain group controls within pod activities and resolve remediation activities swiftly.
• Be accountable for platform operational stability, integrity, and availability.
• Functionally manage the team to deliver and operate the automation suite in line with customer needs.
