Senior DevOps Engineer

CloudFerro builds technologies used by Europe's leading science and space-sector organizations such as ESA, EUMETSAT, ECMWF, Mercator Ocean International, DLR, and EGI. They focus on the Earth Observation domain and develop a sovereign European cloud platform with a complete PaaS stack based on Kubernetes and open source technologies.

• Experienced DevOps engineer with hands-on production experience operating Kubernetes infrastructure.
• Experience with GitOps tools such as ArgoCD or Flux in production.
• Practical experience with Cluster API for cluster lifecycle management.
• Experience with CI/CD, integration tests, and ephemeral environments.
• Good knowledge of Go or Python.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform, Ansible, or similar.
• Proficient use of AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code) integrated into daily engineering work.

Nice to have:

• Experience with Kubernetes upgrade paths including rolling upgrades and certificate rotation.
• Experience with Harbor and OpenBao.
• Knowledge of Kamaji, k3s, or vCluster as lightweight control planes.
• Experience with multi-cluster management tools like Rancher or Gardener.
• CKA or CKS certification.
• Experience with bare-metal Kubernetes deployments.
• Experience designing GitOps pipelines for multi-tenant platforms.
• Experience building custom Kubernetes operators.
• Experience with full release management from builds to production deployment.

• Manage Kubernetes cluster lifecycle: provisioning, upgrades, scaling, decommissioning.
• Implement and maintain tools and solutions supporting platform operations.
• Maintain and develop GitOps pipelines for the platform.
• Manage CI/CD build pipelines and integration test platform.
• Implement deployment and rollback standards for the platform.
• Participate in on‑call rotation for critical platform incidents.
