Senior Engineer (Cloud / D-Fend)

D-Fend Solutions, a part of Motorola Solutions, specializes in cyber-takeover counter-drone technology, delivering software-defined solutions to detect and control unauthorized drones. The Krakow engineering center is driving a technological transformation by migrating critical applications to the Cloud, assembling a team focused on cloud-native and high-impact security innovations.

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience.
• Expertise in Node.js and TypeScript, including frameworks like NestJS or Express.
• Experience building event-driven microservices on major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Knowledge of Cloud Observability patterns including metrics, distributed tracing, and structured logging.
• Proficiency with relational databases (PostgreSQL), in-memory caching (Redis), and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Practical experience or strong willingness to work with React for frontend feature delivery.

Nice to have:

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, AWS CDK, or Serverless Framework.
• Familiarity with GenAI tools like GitHub Copilot, Claude, or Cursor.
• Knowledge of Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) and mTLS.
• Experience with time-series telemetry pipelines and storage tiering.
• Use of observability stacks such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or Datadog.

• Drive the Cloud Transition: Hands-on development and operation of multi-tenant SaaS applications using cloud-native architecture.
• Build Distributed Systems: Implement complex, high-throughput backend services integrating Cloud, On-Premise, and Edge layers.
• Write Exceptional Code: Develop scalable and maintainable code adhering to high engineering standards.
• End-to-End Ownership: Manage full lifecycle from design, coding to deployment and production monitoring.
• Collaborate & Accelerate: Work closely with senior peers to share knowledge, resolve technical challenges, and deliver results swiftly.
