Software Engineer (Data & AI) with Tech Lead potential – Healthcare

datarabbit.ai is a data and AI partner for healthcare and life sciences organizations, delivering production-grade data and AI systems for medical devices, hospitals, life sciences, and pharma across the EU and US.

• 5+ years in software and ML/AI engineering, with at least one year of leadership responsibility.
• Problem-solving mindset with client business engagement.
• Active use of LLMs, AI agents, and frontier tooling to automate work.
• Genuine interest in healthcare technology.
• Full-stack engineering skills centered on Python and AI, including infrastructure and data pipelines.
• Ability to scope, estimate, and deliver end-to-end projects.

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of healthcare-specific systems and standards (e.g., HL7/FHIR, DICOM, Nextflow).
• Experience building or leading engineering teams in B2B or consulting.
• Experience with classical ML, deep learning frameworks, and LLM stacks.
• Experience with data engineering and orchestration tools like Airflow or Prefect.
• Strong cloud skills, preferably AWS, but also Azure/GCP.
• Public speaking, technical writing, or open source contributions.
• Academic degrees in CS, Biomedical Engineering, ECE, or related.
• GitHub or portfolio presence is a plus.

• Design and expand data pipelines and architecture for medical imaging analysis systems.
• Conduct sync meetings to communicate design and project progress.
• Review pull requests and implement code changes in live production model services.
• Participate in stakeholder meetings to define rollout scopes and actions.
• Diagnose and address production alerts related to data, monitoring, or retraining needs.
• Translate design into tasks and coordinate team workflows.

Over time:

• Own project streams end-to-end including architecture, code quality, and delivery.
• Lead engineers and participate in discovery and scoping calls.
• Make architecture decisions and estimates.
• Collect funded certifications in cloud and MLOps.
