Full Stack Engineer

Ledgebrook is an InsurTech MGA aiming to modernize Specialty insurance by overcoming legacy technology and processes. The company combines innovative, world-class technology with leadership experience totaling over 100 years in insurance.

• 3+ years of experience in full stack development.
• Ability to gather business requirements and design scalable engineering solutions.
• Strong skills in designing data models for business domain use cases.
• Proven focus on maintainability and testability in code.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, AWS Code Pipelines, Jenkins, or similar.
• Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, and time management skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects effectively.

Nice to have:

• Prior startup experience.
• Experience with insurance industry/domain challenges.
• Knowledge of web technologies and frameworks: JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, CSS/SCSS, Angular, React, Bootstrap, Node.js.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies, e.g., Docker, Kubernetes.

• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to develop new features and improve existing applications.
• Design and implement frontend and backend components using Python and JavaScript (Node.js).
• Develop RESTful APIs and integrate third-party services.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices.
• Implement automated tests and maintain high code quality through code reviews and continuous integration.
• Optimize application performance and scalability.
• Use and build Large Language Models (LLMs) to enhance underwriters' productivity.
• Debug production issues with modern tooling.
• Help guide the direction of the growing engineering team.
