Senior Python Engineer (B2B, Project-Based)

Spiral Scout is an AI-native international software development company where innovation meets high-performance engineering. Their team combines expertise in custom web and mobile design with Generative AI. They seek a Senior Python Engineer for a client project involving a live subscription product that converts public documents into structured records for research and reporting.

• 5+ years of commercial development experience with Python, including ownership of production data or processing pipelines.
• Experience performing independent technical assessments or audits of codebases and presenting findings to stakeholders.
• Production experience with Google Cloud services (e.g., Cloud Run) or equivalent cloud platforms.
• Proficiency with PostgreSQL, SQL data modeling, deployments, and operations.
• Hands-on experience designing validation, review, correction workflows, record lineage, and regression testing.
• Practical knowledge using LLMs for structured data extraction from documents, including error analysis and combining outputs with deterministic checks.
• Strong working English, preferably B2 or higher, for client-facing technical discussions and written reports.

Nice to have:

• Experience with Firestore, Streamlit, or similar review tools.
• Familiarity with Next.js and TypeScript to coordinate APIs and data contracts with the frontend.
• Experience improving a live SaaS or data product with strict data quality requirements.

System Assessment:

• Review the Python pipeline, cloud jobs, review application, data flows, deployments, and existing documentation.

Root Cause Analysis:

• Trace inaccurate, missing, duplicate, or outdated extracted values to their causes using real documents and sample records.

Review Workflow:

• Design and implement review, correction, approval, and publication steps, with clear linkage from each value to its source.

Extraction Quality:

• Improve LLM extraction prompts, validation rules, and regression checks where evidence shows error reduction.

Coordination & Handover:

• Align backend changes with the web application and document deployment, testing, and operational handover.
