Technical Project Manager (Security)

Keepit is a platform providing immutable, historical data archives for systems like Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Salesforce, Entra ID, Dynamics 365, and Zendesk, protecting customers against ransomware and data accidents. The company backs up hundreds of petabytes of data with reliability and performance.

• 5+ years managing technical projects or programs in security, infrastructure, or IT operations.
• Proven ownership of backlog and roadmap end-to-end: prioritization, dependency tracking, and delivery.
• Working understanding of security operations including detection, alert triage, incident response, and vulnerability management.
• Power-user proficiency or rapid ability to achieve power-user proficiency in Jira and Confluence.
• Experience coordinating coverage schedules or on-call rotations, including absence planning and handover.
• Strong written English skills and ability to produce clear documentation.

Nice to have:

• Exposure to security maturity frameworks such as NIST CSF or MITRE ATT&CK.
• Experience facilitating post-incident reviews, tabletop exercises, or purple team engagements.
• Experience selecting or rolling out IT service management platforms.
• Familiarity with change management for production systems.
• Vendor management or procurement coordination experience.

Project delivery:

• Support daily security operations by deploying and implementing operational security priorities.
• Own the security roadmap and ensure annual commitments are tracked and completed.
• Lead communication, planning, and coordination with teams and stakeholders.
• Run SOC cadence including backlog refinement, sprint and roadmap reviews, shift handover syncs, and stakeholder check-ins.
• Maintain and prioritize the SOC project backlog with security engineering leads.
• Track project risks, dependencies, blockers, and escalate as needed.
• Manage vendor and tool procurement timelines, including renewals and onboarding of new tools.
• Own documentation of processes, SOPs, and runbooks, keeping them current.
• Report roadmap and project status to leadership.
• Manage change requests and change management for production security tooling.

Measuring team maturity:

• Define and track maturity models such as NIST CSF or MITRE ATT&CK.
• Own operational KPIs: MTTD, MTTR, alert-to-incident ratio, false positive rate, and detection coverage.
• Run gap assessments and convert findings into roadmap items.
• Coordinate tabletop exercises and purple team engagements.
• Benchmark against industry peers annually.

Scheduling:

• Ensure coverage for phishing triage and SIEM monitoring.
• Manage on-shift rotation for incident response.
• Plan for PTO and holiday coverage.
• Maintain documented shift handover processes.
• Oversee scheduling for other monitoring activities like vulnerability scanning and threat intel reviews.

Incident management:

• Participate in incident response and coordination.
• Own and maintain incident response playbooks and runbooks.
• Facilitate post-incident reviews and track remediation to closure.
• Track incident metrics and prepare leadership reports.
• Manage escalation paths and ensure proper team involvement.
• Coordinate with legal, compliance, and communications on regulatory or public exposure incidents.

Stakeholder and vendor management:

• Serve as the single point of contact for cross-functional SOC engagement.
• Manage relationships with security tool vendors and external partners from evaluation to renewal.
