Java Developer

Welcome to Group Technology at Nordea Bank ABP, focusing on engineering solutions for the bank's transformation and supporting the Customer Vision and Business Strategy. The role is within the Safekeeping and Corporate Actions Development team responsible for developing and modernizing integrations of the Safekeeping system, a core part of Nordea's trading lifecycle. The team works on components and microservices connected via Kafka, IBM MQ, REST services, and API Gateway. The position is permanent, full-time, and offers up to 40% remote work.

• Fluency in Java, SQL, and English.
• At least 12 years of experience as a software developer in large-scale enterprises with technical leadership progression.
• Experience with Java, Maven.
• Knowledge of Spring Boot, Spring Integration.
• Experience with databases, specifically Oracle.
• Familiarity with message queues such as IBM MQ and streaming platforms like Kafka.
• Skills in testing with JUnit and Testcontainers.
• Experience with version control using Git and CI/CD tools like Bamboo.
• Understanding of REST API, API Gateway, and enterprise architecture.
• Awareness of GDPR compliance.

• Designing, building, and enhancing integration components connecting the Safekeeping system with other Nordea systems.
• Taking ownership of the technical quality, establishing coding standards, and maintaining a backlog of technical and architectural improvements.
• Mentoring and guiding team members in best technical practices, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.
• Leading technical architecture decisions in collaboration with solution and enterprise architects.
• Collaborating with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
• Representing technical expertise in cross-functional meetings and Scrum ceremonies.
• Driving technical estimates, identifying risks, and proposing solutions to complex integration challenges.
• Ensuring system reliability through monitoring, troubleshooting production issues, and establishing incident response procedures.
