Senior Data Analyst / Data & BI Expert

The role is within an international banking environment focused on a strategic data initiative supporting risk modelling processes and alignment with group-level standards.

• At least 6 years of professional experience in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Data Engineering or related data domains.
• Strong experience designing and developing data layers, data warehouses, data marts, or analytical solutions.
• Experience integrating data from multiple source systems.
• Hands-on business analysis experience in complex technology projects.
• Experience working across multiple business and technology teams.
• Strong SQL and T-SQL skills.
• Very good knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server.
• Practical experience with ETL/ELT solutions.
• Good practical knowledge of Python for data processing and automation.
• Experience with data workflow orchestration tools, preferably Apache Airflow.
• Experience with Power BI.
• Knowledge of Git or similar version-control tools.
• Strong understanding of data modelling, transformation, and integration patterns.
• Practical experience defining data quality and validation rules.
• Good stakeholder management and workshop facilitation skills.

Nice to have:

• Experience coordinating complex data workstreams involving multiple teams.
• Banking or financial services experience.
• Experience with risk data, risk modelling, or regulatory data environments.
• Experience with Data Governance and Data Quality Management.
• Exposure to audit-sensitive or regulatory data processes.

Business analysis and solution design:

• Gathering, analysing and documenting business and technical requirements.
• Leading discussions with business stakeholders, data owners, architects and technology teams.
• Identifying data sources required to fulfil business and analytical needs.
• Translating business requirements into technical data solutions.
• Designing data flows and solution concepts.
• Performing impact analysis across processes, systems and data structures.
• Providing recommendations regarding solution design and implementation.

Data modelling and integration:

• Designing and developing analytical and modelling data layers.
• Creating mappings between multiple source systems.
• Defining transformation logic and business rules.
• Integrating data from multiple internal and external sources.
• Designing and supporting ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Supporting the development of data warehouse and data mart solutions.
• Ensuring consistency and completeness of data used in analytical and modelling processes.

Data quality and validation:

• Defining and implementing data quality rules and controls.
• Designing validation processes.
• Identifying data anomalies and inconsistencies.
• Performing root cause analysis and recommending remediation activities.
• Supporting functional, integration and acceptance testing.
• Ensuring that solutions meet audit, regulatory and organisational requirements.

Project and stakeholder coordination:

• Coordinating activities across business and technology teams.
• Leading analytical workshops and project working sessions.
• Managing dependencies, risks and potential delivery blockers.
• Driving decisions and follow-up actions.
• Preparing recommendations and implementation plans.
• Supporting code reviews and production deployment activities.
• Ensuring transparency and timely delivery across assigned workstreams.

Required to speak both English and Polish at full professional proficiency levels.
