Senior IT Operations Engineer

This is a recruitment offer by Optiveum for a client in the banking industry. The position is for a Senior IT Operations Engineer to join their team, with the cooperation agreement signed directly with Optiveum.

• 5+ years of experience in IT operations, application support (2nd/3rd line), or similar production-facing roles.
• Proven experience in end-to-end incident ownership, including alerts, root cause analysis (RCA), and prevention.
• 2+ years working within an ITIL framework covering incident, problem, and change management.
• Experience in Agile delivery environments collaborating with development teams.
• Proficiency with Jenkins including building, maintaining pipelines, executing, and troubleshooting deployments.
• Hands-on experience in improving and automating CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with log analysis and alerting tools such as Splunk and Sysdig.
• Fluency with observability tools like Prometheus and Grafana, including dashboard usage and alert tuning.
• Comfortable operating services on Kubernetes (checking pod health, reading logs, triggering restarts); cluster administration not required.
• Strong skills in Ansible for controlled configuration changes.
• Strong knowledge of Docker and Docker Compose.
• Basic scripting skills in Bash and Python for automation of operational tasks.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent English communication skills (C1 level) for technical explanations to diverse stakeholders.

Nice to have:

• Experience with IBM DataStage.
• Experience with GitHub Actions.

• Own the incident and problem management process for production incidents including diagnosis, resolution, root cause analysis, and preventive measures.
• Continuously monitor service health to detect anomalies early and act proactively.
• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines automating build, testing, security scanning, and deployment.
• Maintain stability and alignment of Pre-Production and Production environments daily.
• Document operational procedures, known issues, and resolution steps to establish a reliable knowledge base.
• Collaborate with development and platform teams to triage issues, clarify operational requirements, and close feedback loops between production and development.
