Advanced Software Engineer (.NET)

Relativity is a legal data intelligence company developing AI-powered cloud platform RelativityOne, used by law firms, corporations, and government agencies for managing complex legal data. The Unstructured Storage Services team delivers core cloud-native storage services within RelativityOne using Azure technologies such as Blob Storage and Cosmos DB.

• 3+ years of software engineering experience in backend services, distributed systems, or data/platform engineering.
• Strong development skills in C#/.NET (Core).
• Hands-on experience designing and implementing cloud-native storage solutions, preferably in Azure.
• Understanding of distributed storage fundamentals including partitioning, consistency models, data access patterns, and performance optimization.
• Experience with CI/CD practices and tools such as GitHub Actions.
• Fluent English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working within Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.

Preferred:

• Experience with Azure Blob Storage and Cosmos DB.
• Experience designing and implementing gRPC services and distributed service communication.
• Experience with multi-tenant platforms, storage lifecycle management, and access control models.
• Familiarity with service observability, operational excellence, and incident response practices.
• Experience optimizing large-scale storage systems for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.

• Design, build, and operate backend services for unstructured storage using C#/.NET focusing on reliability, scalability, security, and performance.
• Implement and evolve Azure-based storage solutions including Blob Storage and Cosmos DB with lifecycle policies, multi-tenant isolation, and cost optimization.
• Design and implement service-to-service communication using gRPC and Protocol Buffers, including contract versioning, streaming, deadlines, retries, and REST APIs.
• Lead and participate in technical design reviews and document architectural decisions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, identify reliability and performance risks, and improve operations through automation and playbooks.
• Contribute to the storage platform roadmap by evaluating technologies and recommending improvements.
• Collaborate with product engineering, SRE, and security teams to deliver end-to-end solutions and improve developer experience.
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident response activities to maintain service health and support customers.
