Sr.Director, Platform Engineering

Kyriba is a global fintech leader empowering CFOs and finance teams with cloud-based treasury, payments, risk management, and working capital solutions. The company serves over 3,000 customers worldwide, managing $15 trillion in payments annually. This role is part of the engineering leadership team based in Warsaw, Poland, responsible for leading a team of Software Engineers, Platform Engineers, System Architects, and Engineering Managers.

• Proven leadership in Platform, Distributed Systems, or AI Engineering organizations for enterprise SaaS.
• Expertise in event-driven architectures (including Kafka), API design, workflow engines, distributed databases, and high-throughput data processing.
• Experience modernizing legacy monoliths into cloud-native microservices.
• Product mindset for managing internal developer tools.
• Knowledge of AI/ML infrastructure, agentic workflows, LLM orchestration, and vector data storage.
• Over 10 years of engineering leadership, with 5+ years managing multi-squad platform organizations internationally.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.

Strategic SaaS Modernization & Architecture Roadmap:

• Decouple legacy monoliths into domain-driven microservices with strict API boundaries and containerized deployment using Kubernetes and service mesh technologies.
• Implement real-time event streaming using Apache Kafka and event-driven microservices.
• Integrate Large Language Models (LLMs), agentic AI workflows, predictive models, and vector stores.
• Develop an internal platform portal and automated tooling for cloud resource provisioning, microservice templates, observability dashboards, and deployment pipelines.

Expected Outcomes:

• Define and execute a multi-year platform roadmap.
• Deliver resilient shared foundational components including AI agent orchestration and event-streaming pipelines.
• Structure and scale autonomous engineering squads with clear mission ownership.
• Enforce API contracts, standard event formats, SLOs, and self-service developer portals.
• Ensure enterprise governance, security, and compliance of platform services.
• Drive performance optimization and fault tolerance across platform microservices.
• Mentor Engineering Managers and technical leads globally.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage platform features as internal products with customer feedback loops.
• Oversee design, implementation, and lifecycle of platform microservices and data access layers.
• Align platform deliverables with enterprise architecture, security, and cloud infrastructure teams.
• Establish incident management, observability, continuous deployment, and capacity planning processes.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Management, Information Security, Cloud Operations, and Customer Success.
